Hydrogen Property

First Brook Claims: Hydrogen

The Firstbrook Claims are located in Northern Ontario near the historic Cobalt Mining Camp. The property was acquired based on its geological setting and proximity to areas of natural hydrogen exploration activity.

Satellite gas surveys conducted over the region identified hydrogen targets on the Firstbrook Claims for potential field follow-up.

Lithium Project

The Nakina Lithium Property

Protium maintains a 100% interest in the Nakina Lithium Property in Northern Ontario, approximately 90 kilometres north of Geraldton and 300 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay.

Exploration completed in 2023 identified lithium mineralization in bedrock and areas with elevated lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) pathfinder minerals. Geophysical interpretation has also identified features coincident with lithium-anomalous till samples, providing areas for additional exploration.

HISTORY

Historical Exploration Activity

A chronological overview of regional government surveys across the Nakina Property. Key studies documented metasedimentary enclaves and peraluminous granites, laying the groundwork for modern LCT pegmatite lithium discovery.

1997–1998

Regional Bedrock Mapping

Early government surveys documented the granitoid body, coarse muscovite, garnets, and metasedimentary enclaves.

1999–2001

Operation Treasure Hunt Launch

Ontario launched a multi-year provincial initiative to investigate fertile peraluminous granites and rare-element pegmatites.

2002

Initial OGS Sampling Program

The OGS collected strategic samples along Maun Lake Road, analyzing fertile granites, aplites, and micas.

2006

Analytical Data & Mineralogy Results

Detailed microprobe and analytical studies confirmed the pluton's fertility, setting the stage for modern LCT exploration.

2022

Airborne Geophysics & Triaxial Survey

A magnetic gradiometer survey outlined potential pegmatite dykes coinciding with lithium-anomalous till samples.

2023

First Systematic Exploration Program

Protium identified bedrock lithium mineralization, LCT pathfinders, and an observable enrichment zonation pattern.
